School Leaders organise their 'Kanyini' Film Screenings and invite their local Indigenous Community to the event. Here are some examples:
Loreto Kirribilli screened Kanyini on May 8, 2008.
The girls from Year 11 ran the event and were just
wonderful. They spoke about how 'reconciliation' requires action, not just words. Many local Aboriginal Residents came to the screening. It was a fantastic event!

Masada, St Ives screened Kanyini on April 11, 2008.
The day began with a beautiful Hebrew song of welcome
and ended with a musical collaboration between Wadi and the Masada Yarnup Support teacher! Great morning. We were all inspired to go bush after Wadi sang a traditional song. It was very beautiful.

The Yarnup team visited Chatham High on March 31, 2008 with Tjilpi Wara. Wadi taught some of the students the Emu Dance under the watchful eyes of his grandfather! It was a very special visit. The students really love Kanyini, although they find it very sad. They're comments are in the 'What You're Saying' part of this website. The school had their screening of 'Kanyini' on May 12th, 2008.

Waverley College had their screening of Kanyini on April 2nd, 2008. The boys really enjoyed the film and understood the complexities involved in the colonising process. One student said, 'We should have listened to the Aboriginal people and lived like them.'

Tempe High had their screening of Kanyini on the 28th of May. The students were so engaged when the film screened, you couldn't hear a pin drop. As the film finished all the students clapped. It was really inspiring to watch. Tempe High has so many different cultures amongst the students. It was great to see the Aboriginal culture being embraced so strongly by both the Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal students.
